Once upon a time (at the age of twenty-four to be exact), I had stood-up as a bridesmaid in four of my closest friends’ weddings, but I felt uneasy at the thought of someday spending so much money on a fabulous day of my own.  I realized that there needed to be a way to connect style-conscious brides who were total strangers – because there are just some things that friends don’t want to share (like the same wedding colors).  Savvy Cinderella is like a craigslist for brides.  Brides and newlyweds can list, buy and sell their once loved wedding items on Savvy Cinderella.

The Leapyear Project
Everyone has had ideas, dreams, and thoughts about creating change in their lives or around the world (yep…even you!). Though it seems like there is too much going wrong and too little time, 2012 is a Leap Year and we, the LYP team, are inviting you to take a risk to change your life, your community or your world for the better.

Your risk could be big or small. It could take a day, a week or the entire year. Whatever it is, we’re asking you to share the idea and your progress online & offline by ‘tagging’ your status updates, tweets, blog posts, and even your creative endeavors with #lyproject. We will collect the stories, photographs, videos, etc in order to curate a book and an art exhibit that will be released in 2013.

girtank
girltank is the shelab for social change entrepreneurship.  girltank’s mission is three-fold:

1. To source, engage and train a global community of young women changemakers under the age of 30;
2. To advocate for these changemakers and connect them to opportunities and resources so they become high-impact leaders;
3. And to disseminate stories about young women changemakers and leaders to encourage a global perception of young women as powerful contributors to society.
